Eating vs. Nourishing: What I Learned

Eating vs. Nourishing: What I Learned
Our bodies crave essential nutrients, and we must provide them with the nourishment they need. While it may be tempting to opt for quick and convenient food options, they may not always serve us in the long run. That's why it's important to prioritize the quality of the food we eat.

As a child, I grew up with wild game and boxed foods. My family didn't have the resources to prioritize food quality, so we opted for fast and cheap options. Unfortunately, this led to stomach issues that persisted into my teenage years and trickled into adulthood.

When I met my husband, Sam, I discovered the world of farm-fresh veggies and learned to cook and take my palate on a journey. As we transitioned to a primarily fresh food household, I saw a significant improvement in my health. My stomach issues began disappearing, and I felt more energized and alive than ever.

Of course, transitioning to a fresh food diet can be a challenge, particularly if you're on a tight budget or find change difficult. I recommend starting small by choosing just one food item to swap out with a fresh farm product straight from the farmer or rancher (or as close as possible). It's important to remember that this is a journey, and there's no need to stress about perfecting it. With time and patience, you can make significant progress in your health and well-being. And don't think I don't have boxed Mac and Cheese or fruit snacks in my house because I most certainly do! I am, after all, a mom, business owner, and rancher-- I'm human and have lazy days.

At Wild Things Ranch, I offer regeneratively raised lamb meat, perfect for those looking to embark on a palate journey. My meat is raised with care and attention to detail, ensuring every bite has essential nutrients and flavor.

Remember, nourishing your body with essential nutrients is a journey, not a destination. By prioritizing the quality of your food, you can take control of your health and live your best life.
