Pigs need A LOT of water!

Pigs need clean freshwater as they tend to dirty it up by wallowing in their water and they have powerful snouts that can quickly flip over big, full tubs of water (because it’s fun, DUH 🤪).

I highly recommend an automatic pig waterer! They come in many different forms. Most automatic pig watering systems can be made or bought through your feed store. We make ours. And believe me, I’m not one for DIY!

Automatic waterers will cut down on water waste and the need to refill constantly. The best option we have found is a 55gal drum with a pig nipple attached to it.

WHAT'S NEEDED FOR A 55GAL DRUM WATERER:

Drill
Holesaw— two different sizes.
Permanent marker— or something to mark with
Plumbers tape
Pig nozzle
Bulkhead
FOOD GRADE 55 gal drum— Can be found at feed stores, hardware stores or used on Facebook Marketplace. We pick ours up for $20-$25
